Because today is my birthday!
This is the first time I announced my birthday. When I still had Facebook, I didn’t set my birthday on public. I was never comfortable sharing my birthday with anyone. There was also a part of me that wanted to know who would remember me on my special day. (Real mature, right?)
But, today, as I look back on the past 28 years of my life, I’m announcing my birthday because I want to take this opportunity to thank you:
Thank you for supporting my blog—whether you’re a reader, a subscriber, or a supporting member. This blog is my life’s work. I’m pouring out my whole heart into this project. For you to be part of it really means a lot to me. Thank you.
Thank you for believing in this project. There were countless times when I thought about giving up. In fact, if you count the number of times I suddenly “disappeared” and didn’t post on the blog, that’s the same number of times I almost gave up. Thank you for believing in the project when I didn’t even believe in it. Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t even believe in myself.
Thank you for your encouragement. When you visit the blog, it gets measured. When you subscribe on the blog, it gets measured. When you open my emails, it gets measured. When you share my work, it gets measured. Those are just some of the little actions that you take that lift me up big time. You don’t know how much your little actions encourage me. Thank you.
Thank you for the things that do not get measured. Thank you for the friendship, the belief, the connection, the prayers, the faith, and the love. These are far more important than any metric that gets measured. Thank you.
Thank you. Just thank you for being there. Thank you for being in this journey with me.
To be honest, I don’t know how long I’ll keep on blogging. We’ll never know for sure. If there’s one thing that’s certain in this life is that life’s uncertain.
But, while we’re here, I want to say thank you. I’m looking forward to the next 28 years with you. (Wow! I’ll be 56 by then.)
Cheesy as it may sound, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
P.S. I’ll be giving you a gift in the coming months. I pray that it will help you in your own journey as well. Watch out for it.
