Sometimes, we need to rest to take a break.
Sometimes, we need to rest simply because we're tired.
But, many times, we need to rest to remind ourselves of one thing: our purpose.
"What are you doing things for? "
"What are you working for?"
We have to remind ourselves of our purpose regularly.
Last weekend, I decided not to work on Sundays anymore, no matter how tempted I am.
I need my Sundays to constantly remind myself why I'm still blogging. I need to remind myself that I'm doing this not only for myself, but also for God and for you.
I also realized that I need to respect my five-minute breaks after every 25 minutes of uninterrupted work (this is called the pomodoro technique) to be in a state of gratitude, purpose, and grace throughout the day.
In this world where we are so focused on achievement, we have to make a conscious effort to rest—to take a step back every so often to keep things in perspective and remind ourselves: what for?
What are you doing your work for?
