How to increase your focus

Just tell yourself to stay more focused for five more minutes.

When you feel like leaving your desk and walking around, stay seated and work for five more minutes.

When you’re reading and you're starting to get distracted in your thoughts, stop following through your thoughts, get your eyes on your book, and read for five more minutes. 

When you feel like logging in to Facebook while you’re working, try to work for five more minutes.

When you’re running in a fun run and you feel like walking to rest, run for five more minutes.

Focus is a skill and it’s not easy to acquire, especially in a fast-paced, social media-driven world. It’s really easy to lose our focus with all the distractions around us.

It’s difficult to suddenly be focused in one day. You’ll get burned out easily. Your focus will not be sustainable.

Instead, try to stay focused for five more minutes whenever you’re starting to get distracted. And then five more minutes. And then five more.

I’m easily distracted myself. But, so far, it has worked for me.
